Can someone give a list of everything I will need for the Wii game system?

I'm buying a Wii for my daughter for Christmas and would like to know everything I need so that we can connect it and play Christmas morning. I don't want Christmas morning to arrive and find out I needed this extra connector (example) that doesn't come with the system. Also, is it necessary to buy the cooling fan? Any info would be great!

  1. It is not necessary to buy the cooling fan, my Wii works fine without the fan. When you buy the system it should come with everything you need. (the system, a/v cables, power cable, sensor bar, wii remote and nunchuk) It also comes with Wii Sports (a fun game, very addicting). The only thing I could reccomend buying with the system is an extra Wii remote and nunchuk if you want to play games with your daughter. But as far as getting everything you need, if you have a standard TV with the Red Yellow and White A/V connectors, you should be fine. :)
  2. A lot of things. People won't have a hard time (and their wallets too) if they bought Wii's before the Nintendo Big 3 era (Metroid, Galaxy and Brawl). Some accessories: Wiimotes (up to 4) Nunchuks (don't really need 4 but it's up to you) Classic Controller/GC Controller (play VC games and GC games) Wii Points Card (play the games from your childhood, still waiting for The Goonies and TwinBee to come to VC) Some optional accessories: Wii RGB SCART - if you're in a PAL region and can't afford HDTV, then get this cable. Really improves picture quality. Wii cooler - if you live near the equator and have WC24 on all the time, get it! Some games for your daughter: Wii Sports Cooking Mama Wii Play Mario Party 8 Big Brain Academy
  3. The Wii comes with the following: - Wii Console - Wii Console Stand - Wii Remote - Nunchuk - Sensor Bar - Wii AC Adapter - Wii AV Cable - Wii Sports Disc with 5 games (Baseball, Tennis, Golf, Bowling and Boxing) Some things i would recommend getting would be another Wiimote, and another Nunchuk. You should also get another game, because Wii Sports can get boring easily. I would suggest Mario Party 8. It's a great family game. If you want to go on the Virtual Console, (It's where you can buy old Nintendo games to play on your Wii ) or if you want to get on the Internet on the Wii, i would suggest you have a wireless or wired Internet connection. I have a Wii, and i don't use the cooling fan. And my Wii doesn't over-heat. Hope That Helped!
  4. Well if two people want to play than you need to buy another controller and numchuck and your ganna want more than one game!
