My son's Wii game system just suddenly won't read discs. You can play the console games on it.?

it wasn't dropped or anything. We contacted Nintendo to have it sent to them for checking but does anyone know anything about this or have a similar experience? we tried gamecube discs, no the discs aren't scratched...we are stumped but thanks everyone

  1. make sure ur putting them in the rite way. ok yeah i wouldn't recommend so much asking nintendo, but its a start. the only reason i wouldn't is becuze my wii was haveing a slight problem with noises so they sent me a USED one and it ate up my disc. they give you a REFURBISHED one not a new one. before i was so happy cuz i thot i was geting a brand new wii but then i sent it back and i told them i would deal with the noise. it turns out it wasnt really a probelm. if you want to figure out the problem yourself then look it up online. it may require u to open up ur wii, which wil void warranty..
  2. Have you made sure the game disk is clean and not scratched up? Also, the Wii sometimes takes a while to read the disk. Hope I helped!
  3. Try cleaning it. Mine works fine, only problem is it turns on by itself .I personally just think its dust on lens............try inserting a regular gamecube disc in it,..............
  4. I had the same experience, i had a completely new store bought Wii and it worked fine at first but the next day it started giving me error messages about the discs and saying it was unable to read them. Well I wasnt gonna put up with that when I just bought the thing so I just took it back to Wal-mart, and they gave me a total refund. If I were you I wouldnt send it to nintendo cause you never know when youll get it back, just bring it back to the store, tell them what went wrong and tell them you want your money back. If you havent had it very long you should get your money back with no problem.
  5. common problem: disc insert the wrong way, disc problem. Solution: try others games switch on and off again.
  6. take it in to the repair place
