Right, i have installed a wii mod chip to play backups (only!!) of my orig games. But guess what... they dont work. I have followed the burning instructions to the letter (x2 speed etc...)but my wii will still not recognise any disks i burn off. any ideas??? is there any way to test to see if the mod chip is installed and working correctly? thanks!

  1. There are a lot of topics at wiiiso.com. Factors include the model of the burner. You cant use any burner it has to be a specific Philips brand, i juts can recall what the model is but if you go to the website you will be able to read about it.
  2. First of all, Mod Chips are illegal and not condoned. Nintendo has made it very clear that Mod Chips will not be tolerated. They haven't publically announced an update that would detect and disable any such modifications however, i highly doubt that they would just openly state it. I suspect this is what happened in your case, although it isn't certain. As for testing the Mod chip, there really isnt away until you've succesfully played a copy. Also, for your information Backups are not necessary as per Nintendo's website. For those who have not made any modifications to their Wii or other Nintendo products but are considering it, I highly suggest you do NOT do so. This is a violation of Nintendo's intellectual property rights.
