Which Wii games fro 7 y/o??

Anyone have suggestions for games to check out for Wii for our 7 year old son? He really likes the sports, Raving Rabbits and liked mario with nintendo (but hasn't tried it for wii). We liked Brain Academy & he enjoys carnival games. Any others out there that are "must haves"? What about dance dance revolution? Or other highly interactive games? Also - anyone have the nerf add-on sports gear? Thoughts on those? What about racing with the wheel? thanks

  1. Super Mario Galaxy is the best game on the Wii, and suitable for anyone.
  2. NiGHTS is supposed to be an excellent game for everyone Nintendo power gave it a 9.5 so it is probably a great game
  3. I would have to say that Wii sports is good if you dont already have it. Otherwise I'd recommend Cruis'n with the wheel because that is a fun arcade game. Also if you get cruis'n, press 2 and then press and hold 2 and you'll do a wheelie which if you do that while getting close to a car, you do a car vault when you touch it.
  4. The add-ons for the controller are all pretty cheap and lame, and more work than fun putting them on for each game, and so on. You can tape the wiimote to a paper plate and have just as much fun using it as a racing wheel that way ;) My 8 year old cousin really enjoys the randomness in the minigames of WarioWare, which is a bit like Raving Rabbids only the minigames only last for 1-5 seconds, and the fun comes from figuring out what to do to complete the game in that time. I really like Dance Dance Revolution, but if you're buying the Wii version be aware that in the options there's an option to turn off the 'gimmick' and 'hand' controls-- they make it very difficult and a lot of people don't like their addition to the Wii game (they aren't in any others). As far as other interactive/peripheral games-- I'm pretty sure a 7 year old can handle Guitar Hero 3 on beginner mode. I've seen videos of some even doing expert on YouTube, but those are just crazy kids. Of course, only consider this if you know he likes music in general, and is willing to play a game with classic (and some new) rock. If it's mini-games he likes, though, it's pretty much easier to find those than NOT find them for the Wii at the moment, some more well-known titles are Raving Rabbids 2, Mario Party 8, and Super Monkey Ball: Banana Blitz.
  5. I would recommend Wii Play because it has games like Target Practice, Tanks, even Cow Racing and it comes with another Wii-mote, so two people can play. I have the Sports Attachments for Wii Sports but they are not Nerf, I already broke the tennis racket (it got stuck in the holster), and it messes up my concentration when playing. But my favorite game would probably have to be a tie between Guitar Hero III and rayman Raving Rabbids 2. Hope this answer helps.
  6. try to get him Mario kart wii. it comes out in Feb. but comes with a wii wheel. another game you should consider is super smash bros brawl. going to be a very fun game.
