Wii Help
Is there any way to remove a mod chip from a wii?
Because i bought Super Smash Bros. Brawl and it wont read it because the game is double layered so i have to send my Wii to Nintendo but my Wii has a mod chip in it.

- There are few ways to play SSBB on your modded wii, and none of them are that great. You can take the Wii apart and warm the solder stuff up enough so you can remove the chip. You have to have a triwing screwdriver and some soldering skills, and be careful....and brave! Or, you could make a backup copy of your game onto a dual layer DVD+R disk. The modded Wii will play this disc with no problem at all....at least if the chip is a Wiikey (I know this for a fact). To make a copy you'll need a specific LG brand DVD reader, the newest version of Friidump, a dual layer DVD burner (with software, like IMG Burn) and a dual layer disc. If you have all this stuff or don't mind buying it, this is your best option. It'll take about ten hours to rip the disc and one hour to burn it. Or you could download an ISO from the web and burn that. Downloading it will take a LONG time (like two days, or more). This isn't a bad option if you have a good internet connection and are patient. Be sure to turn off your PC's power saving settings so the hard drives don't turn themselves off. Also be sure to choose the correct ISO - it should be 7.92 Gb in size (Yeah, it's really that big) and match your region. If you are in the States, it should say US NTSC or something like that in the filename. Or, you could do the flashing of the firmware trick (look at YouTube). This might be the quickest way, but I think it's the dumbest.....I just don't like it. Sorry. Those are your only options. Feel free to email me if you have more questions.
