Is the gamecube control compatible with all Wii games or just some?

I want to know if the GC control is compatible with all wii games.

1. I believe that you can only use a gamecube controller with gamecube games, not wii games. They work with some virtual console games.
2. No. Only a very select few Wii games offer the Gamecube controller as an option. (Only 3 come to mind right now)

4. it will be compatible with some games but not all, smash bross brawl will be one of the compatible games an a lot of virtual console games are compatible too, but NOT with all wii games

6. It depends on the game. I know Dragon Ball Z uses the Gamecube controller, but that's really the only one I can think of right now. Most Wii games rely solely on motion control, so the Gamecube controller isn't really meant to substitute that control.
