Why can only some DVD drives be used for backing up Wii games and not others?
I am about to buy a mod Wii and ive been reading in forums that mainly only certain LG drives are capable of backing up games, and other people have been posting other drives they hace been using to succesfully back up there games. I own a Compaq PC and it came with a ''ATAPI DVD A DH16A 1L SCI'' does anyone know if this will work?

- From what I've read and seen in the past in dealing with backing up games is, it's not necessarily the drive itself but how the drive reads the game disc. There are some DVD drives that can be told how to read the discs and those are the ones that most people use to back-up their games. The drive you have is a generic dvd drive and with some firmware mods it would probably work. but thats not something I'm comfortable with doing since it could break the dvd drive.
