Why is my Nintendo Wii black and white on the tv?

I bought a mod chipped Wii from China. I tested it and played it on a PAL tv in China. I brought it back to Ireland (with a new voltage regulator) and plugged it into the PAL tv here. All games and Wii menus are now in black and white. Does anyone have any idea how I can make it into color? I have tried changing tv's and it makes no difference? Would using a High definition tv help?

4. i dont know seriously ive nver seen a wii before but ive heard of it, hmm maybe something to do with the tv
5. check the PAL/SECAM/NTSC function. If I put now my TV on secam it goes black and white. Yup...Switch around the settings. That's the only thing I can tell you... HD would fix the problem. They are compatible with everything. AND TO THE USER MORE ABOVE: If the cable would be broken you'd get scrambled images or no signal at all. It is NOT broken. Learn some goddamn electronics before giving out crappy answers... n00bs...
