How do I find out what mod chip my Wii has?
Anything I can do, like trying to run updates for different mod chips 'til one works? I'm really clueless here. I'm not sure if the shop used a Wiikey or a d2ckey.

- If the shop uses only Wiikeys or D2CKeys, then this'll be simple. Wiikeys only mod D2A and D2B Wii consoles. They can't mod D2C consoles. On the other hand, D2CKey chips mod only D2C consoles. So if you can figure out if your Wii has a D2A, D2B, or D2C, then you'll know what modchip you have. Take your Wii and look underneath at the serial number (or look at the sides of your Wii's box for its serial number). Go to this website and input your serial number there: http://wiitracker.nintendo-scene.com/search.php The tracker will inform you what chipset your Wii has. So, if it tells you your Wii has a D2C, that means you have a D2CKey. If you Wii has something else, you have a Wiikey. Again, this is assuming the shop you got it from only uses two types of modchips.
