Do you need a Mod chip to play back up games for Wii. or can i just burn the iso on a disc and just play it?

- The Wii must be modded to play backup games. On an original Wii the games will not run.
- Don't forget, if you mod your Wii, the latest firmware update will brick it. ( Nintendo are even kind enough to warn you before downloading )
- Technically you don't need a modchip to play backup games on your nintendo wii, but you do have to modify the console to communicate with a PC. It is cheaper but more time consuming because you have to apply the changes each time you start the wii. A better solution is to install a wii modchip. The Yowii modchip is getting good reviews and won't be affected by the latest firmware update. Updating a Wii from an imported game can brick the Wii because the update isn't compatible, so make sure to always update online or with a game from your region!!
- That last update that will lock out certain modded Wii's... It should actually tell you something... Sooner or later, your newly-modded Wii will also get locked out with a future firmware update! Why take the chance???
