What is a good game on the Wii system for someone with physical limitations?

.. I've seen on the news that Wii is a good physical therapy tool, so I'm wondering if anyone has experience with this. I have a relative with Parkinsons and has limited, but functional movements.

  1. You the games that don't require speed to be successful, so Wii big brain acadamy Wii degree, or the driving and racing games only that require smaller movements etc...
  2. Well... it's very hard to answer that question... but... I guess super mario galaxy would be good because there is no real "get up and move around" activity in it. All it is is shaking the contoller... pressing the "A" and "B" buttons... and moving your character with the numchuck. If this doesn't help you then I'm sorry. It must be very hard on him.
  3. Battalion Wars 2.
  4. well the 3rd answerer missed a thing.in super Mario galaxy there are 3 mini-games where u have to move the remote sideways in order to move and may end up in total frustration because u will always fall. now answering ur question there is a wii game which is good for physical movement and that is Wii Fit.where u have to move left or right to do what the game instructed[see more on youtube].but this is not really ideal for someone with a physical limitation.why not try wii play?it uses physical movement [mostly with hand] and i think that that would be good
  5. Super Paper Mario
  6. Well, even though most games on the Wii do require alot of physical activity, here are some that require no, or little physical activity: -Super Paper Mario -Super Mario Galaxy -Brain Brain Academy: Wii Degree -Resident Evil 4: Wii Edition -Driver: Parallel Lines -Ghost Squad -Call of Duty 3 -Medal of Honor: Heroes 2 -Super Mario Strikers: Charged -Resident Evil: Umbrella Chronicles -Rampage: Total Destruction -Pokemon: Battle Revolution (don't know if the name is right)
  7. That pretty much reduces you to the casual games or the Virtual Console games. I don't think there is a Wii game that would be a good idea. Super Paper Mario has almost no Wii-movements. Fire Emblem is basically a Gamecube game on Wii. For games with actual movements it is best to stick with Wii Sports and Wii Play. Aside from Boxing, all of these games only require short spurts of movement. These are also the only games i know the medical industry has ever used. when Wii Fit comes out, that will also be another really good idea. It will bring his whole body into it, but not too demanding.
