Can you play Wii fit games on Wii console?

After the N64, I became out of touch with all of the new game systems. This is probably a seriously stupid question, but is the Wii fit a completely different item from the Wii console? Or do you just get the Wii console, and then buy the Wii fit board + games to play Wii fit?

2. You NEED to buy a wii console and a Wii fit to play Wii fit. The wii fit balance board is like a controller for the wii. The balance board comes with a game disc.
3. you play it on the wii you have to by the game and the board separately or some times they may come in a bundle.
4. You get the wii with wii sports and a remote and nunchuck for $250. Then you get wii fit completely separately for $90, which comes with balance board and the wii fit disc. There are games compatible with the balance board, like snowboarding. I'm sure many will be coming out soon that will be compatible with it as well.
5. Wii Fit is a game for the Nintendo Wii Console. You buy the console that comes with the controllers,console,books,wires,etc. Then you buy the game for it that comes with the Wii Balance Board. And the Nintendo Wii also comes with a game called Wii Sports. Some titles for the Wii Balance Board includes,We Ski and some cheerleading game coming out this fall.
