Nintendo Wii...?
hi, i am thinking of buying a nintendo wii . as i hv no clue of it;s features,i wud like to know everything that there is to know abt the console. Is there something like different versions of the Wii, compatibility issues,etc I also would like to know how much is the harddisk capacity and the kind of media it uses (dvds..).Is it possible to download games for the wii and then burn them onto a cd/dvd and play them on the Wii? i want to know abt the kind of media it uses...cds or dvds. by downloading them i mean from the internet, the way u can download ps2 games and then burn them on a dvd and play...is the same possible with the wii? dpwnloading wii game off the internet burning them into a suitable media and playing them on the wii

- i am so in love with my wii! it is an amazing thing for families, gamers, or just a bored college student trying to procrastinate!!! wii sports comes with it, and it is SO fun. i wouldn't waste the money on warioware smooth moves, but i'm only saying that because i did. it would have been much better just to rent. you can download old games on the wii itself. all you do is buy a game card from wherever (either at the store or off the net) and you use those points to download what you want directly on the console. also, the controllers have their own memory, but i'm not sure if that only pertains to the miis. not sure about the capacity, but i'm sure if you check out Nintendo.com they have all the technical information. its cheaper than all the other consoles, but it doesn't have wow-worthy graphics. but the features for the controllers make it worth it. you can use either wii games, downloaded games, or game cube games to play.
- I have a nintendo wii and i absolutely love it. the games are a cd but im not sure you can burn games to use, but you could try. i did not have any trouble hooking it up everything should be compatible to what you already have and i do not know of different versions.
- Some quick features: It uses motion-sensitive remote controllers and an infrared sensor bar. It can't play regular DVDs or CDs, but it can play Gamecube games and can use the Gamecube controllers. It can be hooked up to the Internet to receive the weather, E-mails, news, downloads of classic games, and eventually full web-browsing access. The Wii discs are proprietary and as of now cannot be copied. It's very cool.
- Ok, I don't know ALL the answers to your questions, but I CAN tell you this much: There is only one type of Wii. It plays Wii disks AND GameCube Disks. I don't know if any other Nintendo systems use disks, though. You CAN download games from previous Nintendo systems TO the Wii (but not from the Hand Held systems), but I don't think you can burn them to a disk (I may be wrong on this). Oh, and we REALLY like ours, it's a lot of fun.

- The Wii is a childs toy, dont waste your money. I bought one and sold it already. Theres a Grand total of 1 good game out there for it and thats The Legend of Zelda Twilight Princess. The rest are all huge turds. Downloading old games is pointless and too expensive, i think its ridiculous to have to pay over 5 dollars for any of those old games. The web browser is hardly a selling point, who really wants to sit and click the letters on a keyboard with a pointer when its so much faster to just hop on your PC and punch the keys with your fingers. The Wii will eventually die just like the gamecube did. The only thing the Wii is good for is parties, and for people with small children, if you are just playing by yourself then dont waste your time.
