Should I buy Wii or 360?
For my birthday I'm wanting to leap into the Next Gen but presume I'll probably have about $300 to use, maybe a little more. I could buy either the 360 Arcade or plain Wii but need to know which I should get. Since I have a moderate amount of Gamcube games, the Wii fits well with that. But I'd also like something with more interactivity and multimedia capabilities. But since I don't have an Xbox, the games would have to be more and I don't have that much money. Which should I get???

- Wii, they have a highter resale value, so if you dont like it then you can sell it of free bay and get more money, so you can buy a 360 and a new game
- I would suggest buying a Nintendo Wii. If you already have Gamecube games, then it would be a waste to throw them away or make them gather dust, so that is a reason to buy the Wii. Wiis are cheaper, but that doesn't mean they have a worse gameplay than the Xbox 360. I think that Wii's have really good games and they are seriously the best console released. I am not a fan of Xbox so I am not really rooting for them. Go with the Wii, and get games like Zelda and Mario.
- A non brainer. Wii. Just because it is difficult to get and is the most talk-about subject.
- Sounds like the Wii would be the better fit for u. The console and the games will be cheaper than the 360's. I also agree with the other person about the resale value. Either way enjoy!!
- Even though 360 has better graphics, I'd advise you to get a Wii. It's cheaper and requires you to use more energy (by getting up and other fun activities) I would recommend that you get a Wii! Good Luck!
- XBOX 360!!!!! Oblivion and Bioshock are worth it!! The Wii is ok, but it doesn't compare with XBOX Live!!
- I'd say 360 I got one and I love my machine I had all the last generation machines PS2, Xbox, Gamecube, GBA, DS, and PSP I sold them all in a bulk in eBay and I bought a 360 package I haven't looked back ever since. But you might want to buy the warranty just in case I bought mine since the first day 360 came out it hasn't broken down on me but other people have had different experiences. Good Luck 360 rules
- 360 by far, I own nearly every single Nintendo gaming systems and platforms out there, while they may be fun at first, they really do feel boring, and suck after a few months, no replay value, no good graphics, while the 360 has artificial intelligence and blockbuster title in HD, awesome replay value, always rewarding.
- if you're a hardcore gamer then 360 is much better. wii is for light gamers.
- I own a Xbox 360 and I have to admit, it does have its up and downs. For one, there is a firmware hack available allowing you to play your backup games. The downside about the Xbox 360 is that it over-heats too often. An example of this is the "Red Ring Of Death", blinking red light on the Xbox 360 ring panel. The Wii however has childish games in my opinion. With the Xbox 360, you have a wide range of games to play and even play your dvds, and music.
- get a mac!!!!
- I have seen both systems so here is the cons and pros of both systems. cons for Wii 1. If you got lots of friends that come over all the time this is the number one system to play with. 2. It is probably the easiest of the systems to navigate since all the *programs/channels* are right there one one screen. 3. Internet capabilties are automatically on the wii *for 500 wii points* It's wireless so you have to either have a wii usb connector or a wireless modem. I personally like this feature because I channel surf and watch youtube a lot so the surfing concept is great for me, the cables are never in the way. cons for the wii 1. The graphics are not great. If you like gamecube graphics I'd say this isn't a negative for you because it's almost the same. 2. The games for this system as of this moment are not the best lists out there. Compare it online at any review spot and you'll see that they're good but not close to great. *except for mario galaxy!* 3. I find when channel surfing I'm doing a lot of fiddeling around with the screen to zoom in and out to able to read things. 4. Online play is usually only with the people that are also added to your wii list. *I'm a fan of just going to a server and just playing myself* Pros for the 360 1. The graphics and sound is amazing. *Imagine your computer in console form* 2. The game list for the 360 is very extensive with online play. Halo 3 or even my favourite guitar hero 3. You just sign up and play. 3. With this there is also additions that you can purchase that you can watch t.v. or movies or with other additions you can have the internet for the x 360. Digital televison has never been more cheap. I like to record my favourite things while I'm doing something else so that I can watch it at my leisure. Cons for 360 1. Everything that you do costs money. To get to the online play usually you have to purchase the gold membership. To watch the digital televison you have to purchase sometype of addition. 2. The thing can overheat very badly. My friend's 360 shuts down because it overheats badly. So I'd advise a very well vented area.
- Before you read my opinion, I will have it said that I am a Wii owner. That out of the way, 360 is definitely the better way to go. 360 has so many more features than the Wii, included but not limited to: -Better graphics -More memory -Better third-party support -Engaging online experience, Xbox LIVE -Massive multimedia capabilities -Better game library It sounds like I work for Microsoft, but no, that's just my informed opinion. In your situation, I would sell the Gamecube games so as to have the means to purchase the heftier Xbox titles (they are, at most, $10-$15 more than most Wii games). Plus, I'm not going to lie, the Wii gets old, fast. It's a catchy little gimmick at first, sure, but after the intial luster wears off, it's not that great. Xbox 360 is a great, lasting system, and obviously the better choice of the two.
- Wii is the way to go! I'm answering your question using its internet capabilities right now. It's a little harder to get used to controller-wise, but it's definitely the answer to exercise being fun. I got my system, insurance, 2 contollers, a charger for the controllers, and 5 games for about $500. (and that was 5 months ago...prices should have gone down by now)
- the xbox 360 all the way!!!
- Although for the price - the Wii is well worth it - but if you are an avid or hardcore gamer - I have to suggest that you get a 360 or 360 elite! We have every game system here in our house - with the exception of an Atari - and the 360 (we upgraded to an Elite) seems to be the system of choice - better game selection, better graphics, and more capablilities! The PS3 I bought last Christmas, and the Wii a few weeks later for his birthday - were hooked up for a very short period of time - and have since been sitting here gathering dust since the end of last January! The 360 has won here in my house - Being that cost is more, consider that you can always trade in games in exchange for others - and take your level of play into consideration when you make your purchase!
