Wii console? My son wants a nintendo wii for christmas but I've heard good and bad things about this console. I dont know much about it but can someone please list the Pro and Cons about this console please. Thank you.

How to connect my Wii Console to the Internet? My Wii console connects to my wireless network fine and says the connection is fine but wont system update any ideas? The progress bar appears but never progresses! I've tried a few times and I've even left it on for at least an hour, please help. I obviously have a wireless connection and the wii connects fine it runs a connection test which comes back fine, it just won't system update could be firewall issue but could i not instruct the firewall to make an exception on certain ports? Has the limited availabillity of the Wii changed your mind about buying the console? I was really psyched to buy one of these when they first came out. I soon discovered though that they were never "in stock" at the stores. Nintendo seems to be content with producing a limited supply of these consoles for some reason. When will the wii virtual console get more games and also more of the unheard of games? When will the wii virtual console come out with more unheard of games like chameleon twist and DK 64. There are so many games that the wii has neglected to put for sale. I tilted Wii Console while game was running.? When I was playing a GC game and I wanted the controller to extend more, so I took the console out of the stand and placed it horizontally on the ground. Wii console getting kinda slow? I have a nintendo wii, and have the first channel screen filled with icons, and a few saved game data ( 7 games ). Japan Wii Console with US games??? Alright, I live on a military base in Japan. Solutions for keeping my Wii console cool? A couple weeks ago, I noticed some black, barely noticeable flickering lines appear on the TV whenever I played my Wii. I did some research online, and it turns out that my Wii overheated, and that it's actually a pretty common problem. When it overheated, the video hardware got damaged, causing those lines to appear. Oddly enough, Nintendo has never heard of such thing and doesn't have any solutions. Anyways, I sent my console in for repairs, but I don't want the problem to occur again when I get it back. So is there a solution to keeping it cool? I keep my Wii on a flat, wood dressertop, so I don't think there's any issue with the fan getting blocked. I have WiiConnect24 turned on. Could this be the problem? But at the same time, I still want to receive updates and all that. Or is it just the standby connection that needs to be turned off? I would really appreciate answers.
